Anyone who has photos, stories, and material about VR-24 they wish to share is encouraged to send them to Dick Prather, editor of the VR-24 website.



VR-24 members and their families often traveled to and from the U.S. on Military Seallift Transport Service ships. The certicate below is an example of the types of memorabilia presented to service members, or especially to younger family members, on their first crossing of the Atlantic.

This colorful certificate was presented to Mike Hatfield, then a dependent son of LTJG "Porky" Hatfield, on the family's trip from the U.S. to Rota, Spain.
